Shellac Flakes

If you have not become a fan of shellac, our 5 varieties are sure to make you a convert. Shellac is a traditional finish making a comeback. It is a superior product for use as a tie / binder coat between dissimilar finishes. It can be used as a finish by itself, it can be brought to a high gloss or rubbed to a beautiful satin. Shellac flakes store almost indefinately in dry form and are dissolved in alcohol before use. Flooring installers are using shellac more and more as a sealer for waterborne colorants to prevent subsequent top coats from pulling color and muddying the finish.
